The driver of a ready-made garment unit allegedly made away with Tk 11 lakh of his factory at Kuril Biswa Road under Bhatara Police Station in the city on Monday.
Rafiqul Islam Kabir, Managing Director of ‘7 One Tex Ltd’, told UNB that factory chairman Jahangir Alam withdrew Tk 11 lakh from Sonali Bank Shilpa Bhaban corporate branch in the morning.
On his way to the factory situated in Tongi BSCIC Industrial Area of Gazipur by a microbus, Jahangir got down from the vehicle at Kuril Biswa Road to visit a dying factory “James Washing” at about 1:00 pm
keeping the bag containing the money inside it with driver Farid sitting in his seat, he said.
When Jahangir returned to the microbus, he found the driver missing along with the money, Kabir said, adding that they were preparing to file a case in this regard.
