A fire broke out at a readymade garment factory in Rampura area here on Sunday noon.
Sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room said the fire broke out at Asian Garments located on the 5th floor of a 12-storey building around 1:47 pm.
Being informed, 11 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 3:38 pm, said Kamrul Hasan, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.
The garments factory was closed when the incident took place. No casualty was reported immediately.
However, the origin of the fire could not be known yet, he added.
