The 9th GAPEXPO-2018 will be kicked off on January 24, 2018. The four-day long (January 24 – 27) mega show on RMG accessories will be held in between, 2018 at the International Convention City, Bashundhara (ICCB) in the city.
Bangladesh Garments Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers &Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) will show on garments accessories, packaging products and technologies. It is aimed for showcasing latest products, machinery and raw materials and contemporary technologies to attract international buyers of the sector.
Bangladesh Garments Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA), ASK Trade and Exhibition Private Ltd, India, and Zakaria Trade and Fair International are jointly organizing the exposition.
A total of 278 companies from 17 countries including Bangladesh India, Sri Lankan, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Italy, France, USA and Turkey will participate to display garments accessories and packaging items with machinery, all kinds of garments machinery with boiler and spare parts.
Bangladesh has become a sourcing hub for garments products. Garment accessories and packaging manufacturers have started to export directly. Considering the aspects, we are organizing the show to bring buyers and manufacturers under a common place to establish bridge among them. It will create an opportunity for makers to exchange views with the buyers, he said.
BGAPMEA is also going to introduce export trophy for the exporters of accessories. In the closing day, the trophy will be awarded to the manufacturers for both deemed and direct exporters for significant role in direct export of GAP products. There are three categories are gold, silver and bronze will be distributed to three manufacturers with highest performance. While, another nine manufacturers will be given trophy for their contribution as deemed exporters of garment accessories and packaging products.
Since, the direct export of accessories is increasing day by day, we are going to introduce export trophy for manufacturers to encourage them, said Khan, also Managing Director of Khan Accessories and Packaging Co. Ltd. Bangladesh RMG sector has set export target of $50 billion by 2021 and the accessories sector can help to attaining the target if the government provide policy support.
