Rangpur Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) Director’s Personal Secretary (PS) was severely injured firing by some unknown miscreants at Ideal intersection of the RK Road in the city on Sunday morning.
The victim is Ruhul Amin, 45, Personal Secretary of Dr Barkat Ullah, Drirector of the hospital, police said.
Victim’s wife Saifun Nahar Reba said, “Three miscreants riding a shot her husband around 8:30am when he was going to the hospital by a rickshaw with her from residence. They left the spot quickly by firing.”
Locals rushed the victim to the Rangpur Medical College and Hospital in a eritical condition, she said.
Rangpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Abdur Razzak said that the attack might have link to Ruhul’s previous enmity.
The criminals fled the scene immediately after the firing, the police official said.
Ruhul Anim suffered bullet injuries in his chest and hands, the SP added.
A case has been filed with the Kotwali Police Station in this connection.
