Railways Minister M Mujibul Haq yesterday said the Bangladesh Railway will reward the informer for giving information with proof leading to nabbing the masterminds of sabotages, including throwing stones and other sorts of attacks on railways.
He called upon the public representatives and people of all strata to come forward to ensure smooth and secured transportation of passengers and goods by the railway.
Briefing journalists after an inter-ministerial meeting at Rail Bhaban in the city, the minister said security committees would be formed at all railway station areas involving the people’s representatives to protect the railway services.
The railway is working to ensure security of the passengers, he said, adding that all effective steps are being taken for unhindered transportation of oil, fertilizer and other goods containers.
“Besides the railway police, we have involved security forces of all levels for maintaining the highest security to stop clandestine attacks,” Mujibul Haq said.
