Rly to build 500-bed hospitals in Ctg

A 500-bed specialised hospitals will be built in Chattogram in Bangladesh Railway’s land under public private partnership.
An accord has been inked on Wednesday between Bangladesh Railway and United Enterprises Ltd. in presence of Railway Minister Md. Nurul Islam Sujan MP at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka.
According to the treaty, a 100-seat medical college also to be established with the 500-bed hospitals in CRB area’s rail land in the port city.
The hospital will give medical treatment and services to the officials and employees of the Railway Ministry with 20 percent less prices.
Tk 398.98 crore will cost to build the hospital.
The hospital will be handed over to the Railway after 50 years, as per the treaty.
Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said in the function that Railway was self sufficient once. It had hospitals, own forces, power generating facilities and many more. But it has been leg behind due to some wrong policies of past governments. He expressed his optimism that the Railway is going ahead now with success.
He said that the private sectors have to come ahead to take the country towards success.
Ahsan Jabeer, Additional Chief Engineer of Railway signed on behalf of the Railway and Maynuddin Hasan Rashid, Managing Director of United Enterprises on behalf of his company.
Al Kamal Siddique, Chief Executive of PPP authority, Md. Moffazzal Hossain, Senior Secretary of Railway Ministry, Md. Shamsuzzaman Director General of Railway, Officials from Railway and United group, were present.
