Bangladesh Railway (BR) will begin sale of advance tickets from September 15 for the Eid passengers.
The BR has also taken adequate security measures in order to nab the organized gang of muggers, Agyan Party and ticket
black marketers. Adequate number of law enforcers will be deployed at all the important railway junctions and stations.
“The sale of advance tickets will continue till September 19, while the sale of advance return tickets will start from September 23 and will continue till September 27,” Railway Minister Mujibul Huq told reporters in a press conference at Railway Bhaban in city on Thursday.
He said that the tickets for September 20 will be sold on September 15, tickets for September 21 on September 16, tickets for September 22 on September 17, tickets for September 18 on September 23 and tickets for September 19 on September 24.
“A passenger can buy maximum four tickets and those once sold will not be refundable,” the Railway Minister said.
He added that return tickets for September 27 would be sold on September 23, tickets for September 28 on September 24, tickets for September 29 on September 25, tickets for September 30 on October 1.
“Apart from these, seven more pairs of special train services will be added to the existing ones ahead of Eid-ul Azha,” Mujibul Huq said.
He said, the BR has taken all out security measures so that homebound people can reach their destinations safely before and after Eid.
“Besides, a crack down has already been launched on the organised gangs of criminals known as Agyan Party, who make their target victims unconscious by entertaining them with food or soft drinks mixed with strong dosage of sedatives to loot valuables,” he said.
He urged all to inform him about the identified criminals involved with black-marketing of tickets.
“We have also taken adequate measures to prevent black-marketing of tickets. We will go for instant action against the criminals” he said.
