A court here on Tuesday placed BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on a three-day fresh remand in a case filed for obstructing cops from discharging their duties and torching vehicles.
Metropolitan Magistrate M Mostafizur Rahman passed the order when sub-inspector of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station also the investigation officer of the case, produced him before the court seeking a five-day remand.
Earlier, on January 18, some activists of BNP-Jamaat vandalised and torched vehicles in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area amid blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
A case was filed with the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in connection with the incident.
