River ports in 19 districts across the country have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number one as rain accompanied with gusty or squally wind is likely occur in many places in 12 hours till 6 pm on Thursday.
According to a warning issued by Bangladesh Meteorological Department
(BMD) here on Thursday, the river ports in the said districts should hoist cautionary signal number one as rain or thundershowers accompanied with temporary South or South-Easternly (S/SE’LY) gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur in many places over the country during the same period.
The districts are Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh,Dhaka,Faridpur,Madaripur,Jashore,Kushtia,Khulna,Barishal,Patuakhal i, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s bazar and Sylhet, it added.
