Rituparna Sengupta is super-excited to have made it to the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne this year. Her film, Ahaa Re, was screened at the festival.
Talking to us from Melbourne, she said, “Ahaa Re was screened to a full house. It was so successful that we got a repeat screening.”
The festival this year opened with the film, Bulbul Can Sing, and Shah Rukh Khan graced the inauguration with his presence. Also present were Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Sriram Raghavan, Tabu, Rima Das, Karan Johar, Vijay Sethupathi, Gayathrie Shankar and Zoya Akhtar.
“There was everyone from Gurinder Chadha to Jahnu Barua. Meeting some of the greats and talking to them about cinema was a great experience. This is the 10th edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and there were many memorable experiences. As Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai turned 20, it was celebrated at the festival. For me, it was work meets fun,” Rituparna added.
Even though the star actress from Tollywood could not make enough time for sight-seeing, she said the festival was an experience by itself.
