Social media users are questioning why Rihanna’s fashion show chose to style these stars in braids. The third Savage x Fenty fashion show dropped on Amazon on September 24. While many people have praised Rihanna’s lingerie show for its celebration of all kinds of bodies, as well as the show’s creative direction, some people wondered why the show had Venessa Hudgens and Emily Ratajkowski sport braids during their scenes. Neither Hudgens nor Ratajkowski are Black women, and many believe the choice of hairstyle is an appropriation of Black culture.
