International Right to Information Day has been celebrated in Rangpur City Corporation on the initiative of NGO Forum for Public Health Project.
On the occasion of the day, the company held various programs at Rangpur City Corporation on Wednesday. The program included day-long information fairs, discussion meetings and forest rallies.
Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation Md. Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa addressed the discussion as the chief guest. Rangpur City Corporation’s Panel Mayor Alhaj Md. Mahamudur Rahman Titu, Supervising Engineer Emdad Hossain, 21st Ward Councilor Mahabur Rahman Monjur Islam Warng. Ward Councilor Mahfuzar Rahman Mafu.
Among others, SPPLG Project Coordinator NSM Asad, Program Officer Md. Shahadat Hossain, Monitoring Officer Md. Sadia Akhter and other councilors, officials and staff spoke on the occasion.
After the discussion, Rangpur City Corporation Mayor Md. Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa inaugurated the Right to Information Fair at Rangpur City Corporation premises as the chief guest.
After the inauguration of the fair, an awareness rally was held around the main roads of the city.
In collaboration with the donor agency Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) and the Foundation for the People (MGF), the Rangpur City Corporation is implementing the implementation in 33 wards of Rangpur City Corporation under the Poor-Friendly and Participatory Local Governance Strengthening Program (SPPLG).
