Court Correspondent :
A Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Barguna yesterday (Tuesday) sent six teenagers, accused in sensational Rifat Sharif murder case, to Khulna Juvenile Correction Centre.
Barguna’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Sirajul Islam passed the order after police produced 14 persons in the court yesterday morning. The court passed the order as the six teenagers are below 18. They are Rishan Farazi, Tanvir, Chandan, Oli, Nazmul and Srabon, while the rest were sent to the jail.
The next hearing in the case will be held on September 18, said lawyer Mahbubul Bari Aslam. Earlier on September 1, police pressed charges against 24 people, including Ayesha Siddika Minni, wife of the slain Rifat, in the case. However, being ordered by the High Court Division, meanwhile, she walked out of the jail.
Main accused Nayan Bond was exempted from the charges since he was killed in a gunfight.
On Monday (September 2), the Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division passed “no order” on a government petition seeking stay on the High Court verdict that granted bail to Minni, wife of slain Rifat Sharif.
