A rickshawpuller was killed as a private car rammed his rickshaw at Mirpur section-11 in the city’s Pallabi area early Monday.
Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. Witnesses said a speedy private car hit the rickshaw in front of Xinxian Chinese Restaurant in the area at about 10:30 pm on Sunday, leaving the rickshaw puller seriously injured. He was rushed to Doctor Azmal Hospital in the area where doctors referred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) as his condition deteriorated.
Later, he was shifted to DMCH where doctors declared him dead at about 12:30 am on Monday.
Sub-inspector of Pallabi Police Station Shahidul Islam confirmed the incident.
