Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) recovered the body of a rickshaw puller from city’s Bakalia area yesterday .
The body was identified as Mohammad Aziz, 32, hailed from Cox’s Bazar district. On information from the locals, Bakalia thana police recovered the stabbed body of Aziz from an open space near a mosque at Kolpolok Residential area around 10am, said Mohammad Mohsin, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Bakalia thana. Quoting victim’s family member, police said Aziz went out with his rickshaw around 8pm on Wednesday but did not return home till Thursday morning.
Later, Aziz’s body was recovered with stab injuries on both sides of his chest and his rickshaw was not found, the OC said adding that miscreants might have killed him to snatch the rickshaw while the police have been conducting raids to nab the miscreants.
