Miscreants stabbed to death a battery-run rickshaw-puller and snatched his vehicle from Chandanaish upazila in Chittagong on Tuesday night.
The victim was identified Abdus Sobhan (40), a resident of Gasbaria area of the upazila. Police said miscreants snatched his rickshaw after stabbing him in Bagicha Hat area of Chandanaish upazila. Locals rushed him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in a critical condition where on-duty doctors declared him dead around 11 pm on Tuesday.
Md Badiuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Chandanaish police station, said they recovered the snatched the rickshaw from Abdul Bari Hat. However, none was arrested in this connection, he added.
BSS adds: Two people, including a girl, were killed in separate incidents in the city and district Tuesday night and yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Shahida Akter, 8, hailed from DC Road area under Chawkbazar thana in the city and Mohammad Azgor from Hathazari upazila in the district.
