One battery- run rickshaw puller was killed by a hijacker in Chittagong city yesterday morning.
The incident was occurred at Chowdhury Para in Halishahar thana area in city early yesterday morning.
The victim identified as md.Khokan(20). Halishahar thana officer incharge Md. Shahjahan Kabir told that two hijackers rented out his rickshaw from Barapool in Halishahar for onward journey to Chowtala and the hijackers stabbed the rickshaw puller from back side after passing some ways aimed at taking away the rickshaw.
The critically stabbed rickshaw puller fell into ground with hue and cry .
The local people chased these hijackers and one of them Sagar (15) was caught redhanded by the mob who later handed over to police after mass beating.
According to confession of Sagar, police rounded up another hijacker Md. mito (19) from Basundhara residential area and recovered blood strained knife from him. Critically injured rickshawpuller rushed to the nearby hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead. Following the resistance by local people, the hijackers could not take away the rickshaw from the spot, A death case was registered withthe concerned police station, sources said.
