Monirampur police on Friday morning recovered the body of a rickshaw-van puller from a coconut cluster at Mujgunni village under Monirampur.
A housewife was picked up for quizzing in this connection.
The dead was identified as Ashraful Hossain, 36, rickshaw-van puller of Mujgunni village and also son of Abdul Kader of the village.
Mokarram Hossain, officer in-charge, Monirampuir police station told that the police sent the body to Jessore General Hospital for autopsy after recovering it from a coconut cluster. ‘He could be strangled to death,’ he added,’ the police picked up Khaleda Khatun, wife of Malaysia expatriate Abdur Razzak for quizzing.’ Hamida Khatun, wife of the dead told newsmen that his husband had extra-marital affairs with Khaleda, wife of an expatriate.’ Khaleda could have connection with the killing,’ she added.
