A rickshaw garage and a timber shop were gutted at Nimtoli area under city’s Bandar thana on Friday morning.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from electric short circuit at a rickshaw garage owned by one Azahar Ali around 5.20am and it quickly spread to a nearby timber shop.
On information, five units of fire fighters from Bandar station rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control around 6 am.
The fire completely gutted a rickshaw garage, a timber shop and a generator room, fire service sources said adding that valuables worth about Taka 1.5 lakh were gutted in the fire.
