Jail Killing Day observed: Rich tributes paid to four national leaders

The mournful Jail Killing Day was observed here on Thursday with paying glowing tributes to the memories of four national leaders of the country.
The four national leaders – Sayed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, captain Monsur Ali and AHM Kamruzzaman, who were brutally killed in the safe custody of Dhaka Central Jail on November 3, 1975.
Different socio-cultural organizations and institutions and political parties chalked out various programs marking the day.
Awami League (AL) Netrakona district unit and its front organizations took elaborate programmes in observing the day. The programme included hoisting of party flag, national flag and black flag atop of the party offices in the district, placing of floral wreaths at the portraits of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the four national leaders, wearing of black badges, holding of Quran Khawni, Milad Mahfil and discussion meeting and offering of special prayers for peace of the departed souls.
President of AL Netrakona district unit and administrator of Netrakona Zila parishad Motiur Rahman Khan and general secretary and freedom fighter Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru formally inaugurated the day’s programmes by hoisting the party flag, national flag and black flag atop of Netrakona district AL office and placing floral wreaths at the portraits of the father of the nation Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the four national leaders inside the party office in the morning.
A large number of workers and leaders of Netrakona district AL and its front organizations including Jubo League and Chhatra league attended the day’s programmes and paid rich tributes to the memories of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders.
BSS from Mymensingh adds: Jail Killing Day was observed in the district yesterday paying tribute to the four national leaders who were brutally killed in the Dhaka Central Jail by the anti liberation forces on this day in 1975.
The programme was started through paying tribute to the four national leaders and hoisting national flag at the district Awmi League office in Ganginarpar area this morning.
Newly elected president of the district Awami League Advocate Jahirul Haque, City Awami League president Ahtasumul Alam and secretary of the district Awami League Advocate Muazzem Hossain were present.
On the occasion a discussion was held at Krishnachora Chatter in the city. City AL president Ehatasumul Alam presided over the function.
During the discussion, the AL leaders urged the government to bring back the fugitive killers from abroad and to execute the verdict of the convicted killers.
BSS from Gaibandha reports: Jail Killing Day was observed in all the seven upazilas of the district on Thursday through paying rich tributes to four national leaders.
Gaibandha district Awami League and its front organizations chalked out elaborate programmes to mark the day, the dark event of our national history.
The programmes included hoisting of national and party flags at half mast and black flags atop the party offices, wearing black badges, placing floral wreaths at the portraits of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the four national leaders. Milad and Doa Mahfil were also arranged.
At noon, a discussion meeting was also held on the premises of district Awami League office in the town with the president of district AL advocate Syed Shamsul Alam Hiru in the chair.
The meeting was also addressed, among others, by general secretary of district AL Abu Bakar Siddique, president of Gaibandha Poura AL advocate Shah Masud Jahangir Kabir Milon, president of Sadar upazila AL Rezaul Karim Reza and general secretary Aminur Zaman Rinku.
The speakers mentioned with gratitude that Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, AHM Quamruzzaman and Captain Mansur Ali, who were shot dead inside the Dhaka Central Jail on November 03 in 1975, led the Liberation War in 1971.
They demanded the implementation the verdict on jail killing immediately.
