Rich tributes paid to CR Dutta

Awami League Joint Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said that the nation will forever remember the inimitable role of freedom fighter CR Dutt in realizing the dream of the father of the nation to be a non-communal Bangladesh.
“CR Dutt was not only a freedom fighter, he was a good organizer. He has given important instructions and fulfilled his responsibilities in any crisis of the country. His courageous role on the battlefield will be remembered by the nation forever,” Hanif said that to the newsmen after paying homage to CR Dutta at the Dhakeshwari temple in the capital on Tuesday morning.
Awami League Organizing Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain, Freedom Fighter Affairs Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Culture Affairs Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Office Secretary Biplob Barua, Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan, Central Committee Member DrMostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and AKM Jahangir, Awami League leader Advocate Balaram Poddar and others were also present, among others. Earlier, Major General (Retd) CR Dutta (Bir Uttam), Commander of Sector 4 of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, was given a Guard of Honor at the premises of Dhakeswari Temple by a police team from the Dhaka district administration. Later, Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs Tapan Kanti Ghosh and Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Shahidul Islam paid their respects.
BNP, Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee, Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Parishad, Bangladesh Mahila Oikya Parishad, Dhakeswari Jatiya Mandir, Bangladesh Hindu Parishad Dhaka Metropolitan South Branch, Bangladesh Adibasi Forum, Bangladesh Hindu Mohajot, Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance, Lalbagh Puja Thana Committee also paid homage to the veteran freedom fighter at the Dhakeshwari Temple premises.
