Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Arefin Siddique said rich countries are mainly responsible for environment pollution but underdeveloped states are mainly becoming the victim of such pollution. He suggested formation of international court of environment justice to stop environment pollution and put polluters on trial to save the world.
The vice chancellor said this on Friday while speaking as chief guest at the publication ceremony of the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) of IPCC at the university senate hall. Dr. John Church and economist Dr Qazi Kholikuzzaman Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
Arefin Siddique said rich countries are continuously polluting the environment ignoring the suffering of the poor and undeveloped countries.
It has now become urgent to put those polluter countries on trial to save the world from pollution, he added.
