To keep request from once popular film hero Nayeem, another hero Riaz inaugurated a T20 cricket tournament titled ‘Khwaza Murad Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament 2014’ at Nolshodha village of Pathrail in Delduar, Tangail on Saturday.
Riaz also attended there to give encouragement to the cricket fans and participating cricketers of the tournament.
The month-long tournament began at 1:30pm. Champion of the last year B&W and Korotia Cricket Eleven took part in the opening match of the tournament.
While inaugurating the tournament as invited guest hero Riaz told this correspondent over mobile phone, “I am really feeling well to come here among the cricketers. Now our national cricket team has reached into the international level. I believe that the local cricketers will secure their positions in the national level in the long run.”
Hero Nayeem, also organiser of the tournament, said, “I am really grateful to Riaz on behalf of Nolshoda Youth Association that he managed time to come here and inaugurated the tournament. With his presence participating cricketers are feeling spirited.”
It may be mentioned that grandson of Nawab Sir Salimullah, Khwaza Jaki Ahsanullah inaugurated the T20 tournament as chief guest.
Riaz acted and Sohanur Rahman Sohan directed movie titled Lobh-e Paap Paap-e Mrittyu was released on February 14.
Purnima performed against Riaz in the movie.
