Riaj Haider and Mohammad Ali have been elected President and General Secretary respectively of Chittagong Union of Journalists ( CUJ) at its biennial election held on Thursday.
A total of 325 out of 346 voters cast their votes in the election began 8am and continued till 8pm without any interruption.Election commissioner Moazamul Hoq announced the official results at around 11.50pm l. Other elected office- bearers are senior vice-president Ratan Kanti Debashis, (unopposed), Vice-president Nirupom Das Gupto, joint secretary Swrup Bhatarcharzee, Finance Secretary Uzzal Kanti Dhar, Organizing secretary Sabur Shova, Press and Publicity Secretary Alokmoy Talapartro, and Executive Member Mainuddin Dulal.
