National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Mohammad Nazibur Rahman on Wednesday said that the collection of revenue will exceed the target this year due to effective initiative of the NBR.
The NBR Chairman said this while addressing at a launching ceremony of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) Tax Guide 2015-16 at NBR conference room in city.
‘We are working together. We have seen the possibility to hope that the collection of revenue will exceed this year,’ Nazibur said. Assuring the business community, the NBR chairman said that the board officials will provide service at their level best and there will be no harassment.
In this backdrop, the government has set the revenue collection target of Tk 2,08,443 crore in the national budget for the ongoing fiscal in which Tk 1,76,370 crore was fixed for NBR.
The NBR has set the revenue collection target of Tk 36,709.21 crore in the first quarter, but the actual achievement was Tk 30,910.67 crore. Revenue collection target were lack behind of Tk 5,798.54 crore or 15.81 per cent, according to provisional data of the NBR released recently.
