The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has achieved a 19 per cent year-on-year revenue collection growth in the just concluded fiscal year thanks to hectic efforts by its officials.
The revenue collection growth was highest in the history of NBR.
In the fiscal year 2016-17, the NBR has mobilised over Tk 1,85.369 crore revenues against the revised target of Tk 1,85,000.
NBR chairman Nojibur Rahman came up with the disclosure at a press briefing held at NBR’s headquarters in the capital on Wednesday.
The original target for the fiscal 2016-17 was Tk 2,03152 crore.
NBR collected Tk 1,55000 crore revenues in the fiscal 2015-16.
