A retired policeman died at Dhaka Neuro Science Hospital around 8 am on Saturday after being seriously injured in a road accident in Gafargaon.Niece of the deceased Rubel confirmed the news of his death.
Deceased was identified as Asraf Siddiqui Billal,65,of the municipal town.
According to family sources, the deceased Billah Hossain was on his way home from Gafargaon with his family in an auto rickshaw on Thursday morning when it collided head-on with another auto coming from the opposite direction in front of Jamatla junction in the municipal town.
Billal Hossain sustained serious head injuries. Later, with the help of locals his relatives rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex and later to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
He died on Saturday morning while undergoing treatment at the Neuro Science Hospital in Dhaka.
Gafargaon Police Station OC Farooq Ahmed said, “I have received the news of the death. However, I have not received any complaint in this incident. Necessary action will be taken if any complaint is received.”
