Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday said the government is considering restricting all kinds of rallies and processions in the capital to weekend in a bid to ease the nagging traffic situation.
“As we want to minimise traffic jam in the city, we’re thinking banning all kinds of rallies and processions except for weekends,” he said.
The minister was addressing a rally organised by voluntary organisation LionAid on the Central Shaheed Minar premises in the city.
Obaidul also noted that Suhrawardy Udyan will be divided into four parts for holding rallies and other programmes there.
