Resounding victory for Dhaka Platoon in BBPL

Dhaka Platoon registered a resounding 61-run victory over Rangpur Rangers in their Twenty20 cricket match of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Wednesday.
Dhaka Platoon gained 14 points from 10 matches, while Rangpur Rangers got eight points from 11 matches.
Batting first Dhaka Platoon piled up a fighting total of 145 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then bundled out Rangpur Rangers for 84 off 15.3 overs.
Dhaka Platoon failed to make any notable partnership.
Opener Tamim Iqbal hit a remarkable 40. His 38-ball innings was belted with five fours.
No.8 batsman Shadab Khan remained unbeaten with 31. His 19-ball knock saw three sixes and a four.
Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed and left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman of Rangpur Rangers grabbed three wickets each for 32 and 34 runs respectively, while their Afghan recruit Mohammad Nabi bagged two wickets instead of 21 runs.
Besides, Lewis Gregory picked up one wicket instead of 28 runs.
Later, bowlers of Dhaka Platoon totally dominated over the Rangpur batsmen.
Al-Amin, Cameron Delport and Mohammad Nabi of Rangpur Rangers could reach double-digit figures making 23, 20 and 12 runs respectively.
Mahedi Hasan of Dhaka Platoon captured three wickets at the cost of 13 runs, while Shadab Khan, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Faheem Ahmed claimed two wickets each instead of 14, 18 and 26 runs respectively.
Besides, Hasan Mahmud took one wicket for 11 runs.
Shadab Khan was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
