AKS BPL: Resounding victory for Dhaka Dynamites

Dhaka Dynamites recorded a resounding eight-wicket victory over Sylhet Sixers in their match of the AKS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.
Sent into bat first, Sylhet Sixers scored a paltry total of 101 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Dhaka Dynamites coasted home in 7.5 overs making 106 for the loss of two wickets.
Openers Shahid Afridi and Evin Lewis paved their path smooth contributing together 59 runs in the opening stand before Shahid Afridi was trapped leg before wicket by Tim Bresnan.
Shahid Afridi cracked a windy 37. His 17-ball innings was decorated with five sixes and a four.
Evin Lewis remained unbeaten with 44. His 18-ball stormy knock was ornamented with five sixes and two fours.
After Afridi’s departure, Cameron Delport came at the crease but he could stay for a short period as he (0) was caught at the mid-off by Nasir Hossain off Tim Bresnan when Dhaka’s score was 59 for the loss of two wickets.
Then Lewis and Shakib Al Hasan added 47 runs for the unbroken third wicket partnership and brought their team in the winning spot.
Shakib remained unbeaten with 18. He hit two fours and a sixer in his 11-ball innings.
Bresnan got two wickets conceding 20 runs.
Shahid Afridi, Sunil Narine and Abu Hider played the key role to restrict Sylhet to a fragile total.
Number-nine batsman Abul Hasan was the only batsman of Sylhet Sixers who resist the superb bowling attack of Dhaka Dynamites. Hasan remained unbeaten with 30. His 26-ball innings was belted with three fours and one sixer.
Danushka Gunathilaka and Nasir Hossain were the other batsmen of Sylhet who could reach double digit figures scoring 15 and 10 runs respectively.
Shahid Afridi captured four wickets at the cost of 12 runs, while Sunil Narine grabbed three wickets instead of 10 runs and Abu Hider bagged a pair of wickets for 23 runs.
Shahid Afridi was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
