Resolve ‘traffic jam crisis’ in city

A nine-member committee has been formed with Md. Moslehuddin Ahmed, Joint Commissioner (Traffic) of Police, as Convenor for finding out solutions to the existing traffic jam in the city. The committee will submit its report within the next 15 working days.
The committee was formed in a meeting with High Officials of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), held in the head office of Dhaka South City Corporation on Tuesday. City Mayor, presided over the meeting
Among others, Chief Executive Officer, Md. Ansar Ali Khan of Dhaka South City Corporation, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic),
Md. Maruf Hasan, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Moslehuddin Ahmed, and other high officials of DMP were present in the meeting.
Other members of the committee are, Project Director of the Case Project, Deputy Commissioners of Police of Dhaka East, West, North and South, Executive Engineers of Traffic Engineering Department of Dhaka North and South City Corporations, main City Planner of Dhaka South City Corporation and Executive Engineer of the case project.
The committee will do a research survey on existing root causes behind the traffic jam crisis from Shahbag to Dhaka Airport road and prepare a documentary on their report within the time allocated.
