Resisting drug, militancy for development stressed

Resisting drug aggression and rooting out of terrorism and militancy have become burning need of the time for saving the young generations and continuation of smooth development in building a prosperous nation.
The views were expressed at a rally organised against dug, terrorism, anarchy and militancy by Ward No-22 unit of Community Policing at Babu Khan High School ground in Rangpur yesterday.
The event was arranged for creating mass public awareness about severe consequences of drug abuse and drug addiction to save the youths from ruining their future and rooting out terrorism, anarchy and militancy from the society.
Additional Superintendent of Police Abdullah Al Faruk attended the rally as the chief guest with President of Ward No-22 unit of Community Policing Abu Ahmed Siddique Parvez in the chair.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Ataur Rahman, Member Secretary of the divisional and Rangpur district units of Community Policing Shushanto Bhowmick and Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana ABM Zahidul Islam addressed as the special guests.
City Councilor for Ward No-22 Shahjalal Karim Bakul and Community Policing Officer of Kotwali Thana Sub-inspector Muhibbul Islam, also spoke.
In his speech, Shushanto Bhowmick discussed about the grievous impacts of drug abuse and militancy and put importance on mass public awareness against these social menaces for building a society free from the drug, militancy and terrorism.
He said the young generations as well as the society must be saved from the wrath of drug abuse, terrorism, anarchy and militancy removing barriers for their normal growth and flourishing talents in becoming worthy citizens.
The chief guest said the conscious citizen should come forward along with members of the Community Policing in sensitising the young generations as well as parents about catastrophic consequences of generation-killer drug aggression and militancy.
“The society must be freed from the threat of drug, terrorism, anarchy and militancy through strengthening activities of the community policing involving common citizens to maintain the current pace of development,” he said.
