UNB, Dhaka :
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Tuesday said the government should prevent any further violence against Hindu community members ensuring that the perpetrators are severely punished.
The apex trade body hoped that the government, through a neutral investigation, will unveil the identity and motive of the perpetrators and give them to exemplary punishment.
The FBCCI strongly condemned the recent attacks on temples, houses and establishments of the Hindu community at different parts of the country and urged the government to ensure the security of the victims.
This kind of violence in a civilized society is totally ‘unfortunate and unacceptable’ and it is blight on the democratic and secular credentials of Bangladesh, said the apex trade body in a statement.a
It said, the FBCCI is of the conviction that this incident has been purposely orchestrated to disrupt the communal harmony prevailing in the country. The present government’s role in resisting militant activities in the country has been widely lauded by the local and the international communities. The FBCCI firmly believes that the government will be successful in resisting such mayhem, too. Business Community of the Country extends its full support to the government in tackling this problem.
