A rally under the banner of all patriotic citizen of Chittagong was held in front of Chittagong New Market demanding removal of the Livestock Minister Saiyedul Hoque from the cabinet for heinous incident in Nasirnagar of Brahmanbaria district recently.
The rally protested the heinous attack on Mat Mandirs, and the residences of minority people of Nasirnagar . The speakers of the rally called upon the senior leaders of the ruling party not to nominate further in the national election further. The rally was told that due to negligence of the Minister and local administration, the hatred incident occurred. The rally also demanded banning of face book status by any anti-govt quarters and facebook aspirators should be tried under ICT Law .
Ward Councilor Shaibal Das Summon, social personality Ripam Das Shekor, Anup Biswar Prabal Das and Advocate Rajib. Liton Kumar Shil presided over the meeting.
Murder accused held with fake currency notes in Chittagong: Police in a drive arrested a murder accused along with fake currency notes worth TK 50,000 from Purbo Shaheed Nagar area in the city on Monday evening.
The arrestee was identified as Jahangir, son of late Nurul Islam, hailing from Fatikchhari upazila. He was also accused in a murder case filed with Fatikchhari Police Station, and in a robbery case filed with Hathazari Police Station.
Mohammad Mohosin, officer-in-charge of Bayezid Police Station, said a team of police conducted a drive in the area around 7pm and arrested him along with the fake currency notes.
