Resettlement of evicted ICS men Disputes among BCL factions in CU

Factional clash among the activists and leaders of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Chittagong University unit, may help Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) to resettle in Ctg Varsity.
The students of the university having support for the Chhatra Shibir were forced to leave the campus after the university authority came down heavily on them and the police raided the Shibir dominated halls massively to arrest the workers responsible for attack on the teachers’ bus

with bomb on September 10. By this time, six hundred leaders and activists of Chhatra Shibir have been sued.
After eviction of ICS from the campus, the disputes between the two opposing groups of BCL surfaced again, which might resettle Chhatra Shibir supporters, apprehended the leaders and the activists of BCL.
 One faction of the BCL has the blessings of the former Chittagong Mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury and the other group has Central Awami League Leader Nasir Haider Babul as patron.
Sources said the two groups were locked into gunfight 10 times in two months, which left several activists injured. They again fought on Sunday and Tuesday night.
The activists of Mohiuddin Chowdhury did not join the condolence and discussion meeting organized on August17 on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s death anniversary. The CU Teachers Association organized the meeting where Communication Minister Obaidul Quader was the chief guest.
On September 15, some BCL workers beat Jahangir Kar mercilessly. The two groups complained against each other of reaching mutual understanding with ICS.
 Rupon Biswas, Ex-Mass Education Affairs Secretary of BCL told the New Nation that the suspended and the expelled students in collaboration with Shibir are trying to create panicky situation. On the other hand, Amit Kumar Basu, former Vice-President brought counter charge of collaboration.
