Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, Chittagong Chapter expressed concern and resentment over the vandalizing the shops in central plaza shopping mall at GEC circle on Wednesday afternoon.
BSOA issued a press statement over the vandalizing in the posh shopping mall on Thursdsay . President of the Chittagong chapter of BSOA Alhaj Saleh Ahmed Suleman and the general secretary Md. Sagir demanded immediate arrest of the attackers with exemplary punishment . Market sources said a group of youths with lame excuse of a political party with factional feuds stormed in the shopping mall and demanded tolls failing vandalized about 15 shops and looted the valuables from these shops . BSOA sources said these affected shops incurs about Tk one crore .
Mentionable that similar ransacking of shops and extortions were also happened earlier in the city, BSOA said. Following the frequent attack of the terrorists and miscreants in the name of students, the traders of the posh markets are suffering with insecurity .
The association demanded deployment of additional police forces in the city markets to strengthening the security measures .
