The rescue team of Chittagong Port has remove the accident prone vessel from port channel after 18 hours of its accident .
Port sources said one cargo vessel MV Polarish Melody met with an accident in Chittagong inner berth by torning the anchoring rope on Thursday 6 pm last .
The rescue vessel of ctg port rescued the vessel and anchored at New Morring container terminal on Friday . Sources said Panama flag vessel MV Polarish anchored at No.5 berth of New Mooring berth of Chittagong port on Tuesday last with 30,000 metric tons of iron ingots but unfortunaely the anchoring rope torned with the speedy flow of ebb tide in the channel. Deputy conservator of Ctg Port Capt Nazmul Alam told that the vessel obstructed with alluviam of siltation half kilometers off the berth after torning the rope from berth but no problems arisen for navigation of the vessels.
The rescue team consists of 4 tug boats rescued the vessel from silted land which anchored in NCT jetty on Friday evening. Port sources said a probe team is investigating the reasons for this type accident
