UNB, Dhaka :
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has imposed a restriction on the entry of journalists to the Commission fearing information leakage.
A number of reporters, covering the ACC beat, said they were not allowed
to enter the Commission office on Monday despite having appointments with its senior officials. Asked about it, ACC secretary Abu M Mustafa Kamal told UNB that important information are being leaked and published in the media at the stage of investigation and inquiry into graft allegations, hampering its activities.
“Some journalists, not all, are doing this and making our works harder. So, we’re trying to control their access to the Commission,” he said. The ACC secretary, however, said reporters can meet ACC senior officials after 3 pm if they have appointments.
