According to the data of the Bangladesh Bank, the country received inward remittance worth USD 1,26 billion in the first 22 days of September.
In the last one week alone, the country received USD 256.72 million as remittance, according to the central bank data.
Bankers said remittance inflow was an upward trend as the migrants are encouraged by the depreciation of taka against USD.
Bangladesh received remittances of USD 2.09 billion in July and USD 2.03 billion in August, which became a blessing amidst the forex crisis.
But experts said that fixing the rate of buying dollars discouraged the remitters which reflected in the second and third week’s remittance inflow.

The data showed that the remittance inflow decreased by half in the third week of the month.
Bankers said that the remittance will be decreased than the last month if the pace of the reduction continues.
