A remembrance meeting of journalists’ father and mother was held at CMUJ hall in the port city on Saturday evening.
The meeting condoled the death of Forman Mollah, father of Nazrul Islam, Bureau In-Charge of The New Nation and Treasurer of Chittagong Reporters Unity , mother of Prasanta Barua, Sub -Editor of Mukta Bani Ms. Anupama Barua and late Abul Khair, father of journo Kamal Hossain, President of Chittagong Journalists Housing Society and Member of World Press Council Moinuddin Quaderi Showkat were present as chief guest presided over by President of CRU Kiran Sharma.
Prof. Masum Chowdhury was present as main speaker in it. The chief guest in his brief deliverations said that every parents should be respected by their sons with desired honour .
Among others, General secretary of CRU Didar Ashrafi, Asstt. Secrestary of CRU Alamgir Noor, Treasurer of CRU Nazrul Islam, Sport Secretary Abdul Karim Selim, Executive Member Parvin Akhter Chowdhury, member Nurul Kabir, Md. Harunr Rashid, Kamal Hossain, Prasanta Barua spoke on the occasion.
The speakers in the meeting expressed deep shock over the death of parents of three journalists and prayed for salvation of the their departed souls.
The meeting also expressed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family, a CRU release said.
