Remembering important dates will improve love life

Life Desk :

The 18th century playwright William Congreve, once wrote that ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’. We don’t know if he was poetically inspired or forced by experience to pen those lines. But thanks to those forgetful men, we can easily deduct from their experience that ‘hell hath no fury like a woman living with a man who forgets their anniversary!’ Being in a relationship comes with its own share of ups and downs – there is nothing as prettier as the smile of a girl who receives a red rose from her boyfriend on Rose Day; similarly, nothing can match the tears of a woman who has to spend her anniversary night alone because her husband forgot the day and was doing a graveyard shift in office!
Dear men, you might (or you already have) get into trouble for forgetting some important days related to your relationship like the first day you met her or the day on which you stole a kiss from your then shy girlfriend. Some might dismiss these little moments thinking such gestures as silly and childish, but celebrating small and sweet memories not only brings you closer to your partner but also shows how much you care for her. Now that 2018 is already here, it’s the perfect time to plan some unforgettable moments of your relationship to make your lady love feel special.
Now, this goes without saying, please do not forget your anniversary or the day you proposed. No matter how hectic your schedule might be, your partner will always look forward to that special day which brought you to her life. In case, you haven’t already set a reminder in your organizer, this is the perfect time to do so. Same goes for her birthday.
Valentine’s Day
It’s celebrated only once in a year on 14th February. If the hundreds of promotional events surrounding the day doesn’t catch your attention, you might as well set a reminder on your smart phone. This is a great day to pamper your partner, shower her with gifts and make her feel special. Some might argue that one doesn’t need a Valentine’s Day to celebrate love. But what’s the harm in being a little extra-attentive on a particular day that has been globally assigned to celebrate love?
If you want to make her feel more special and loved, it might be a good idea to remember the various days leading to Valentine’s Day. The Valentine’s Week (as it is called) starts with Rose Day on 7th February, which is celebrated by giving roses to their partner. Interestingly, from 7th February onwards, each day leading to the grand finale (Valentine’s Day) has a special meaning attached to it. 8th February is observed as Propose Day, the next day is Teddy Day followed by Promise Day, Hug Day and Kiss Day!
Besides these special days, if you manage to remember a few more (like the following) dates, it will definitely melt her heart. Even if you forget these, you won’t get into trouble but if you can be a little attentive on these days, it will mean a lot to your partner.
The eight day of March is celebrated as International Women’s day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. This is a great day to let your partner know how much you love and respect her for being what she is. She might be a working woman or a homemaker, but this is a special day for every woman and they definitely deserve a little pampering on this day.
Actually, October is observed as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and 20th October is celebrated as National Mammography Day. No amount of roses can match the one small step you take to protect your partner’s health, and breast cancer is something that every woman should know about. Fortunately, while mammograms and ultrasounds can help a woman to detect cancer, but breast self-examination accounts for 40 per cent of the diagnosed cases. As a partner, it is also your responsibility to make her aware of this deadly disease and what could be a better way to do that than by taking her to a doctor for regular check up on 20th October?
