The Detective Branch (DB) of police has detained two suspected operatives of Ansarullah Bangla Team, an outlawed extremist organisation, in Chittagong.
A DB official told medial that the two were nabbed during a drive in Boromia Mosque area on Wednesday night.
The official identified them as Nizam Uddin, a former law student at Chittagong University, and Rokon Uddin.CMP DB’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Anwar Hossain said police had recovered books on jihad from their possession.
The media was briefed on the matter later in the day, he said Sources said the remand hearing of the detained ABT men is fixed on Sunday before the metropolitan magistrate court, Chittagong.
