Remains of three more fire victims were recovered from the debris of Tampaco Foils factory in Tongi BSCIC Industrial Area of Gazipur district on Monday.
With the fresh recovery, the death toll rose to 39.
The ill-fated workers have been identified as Anisur Rahman, 30, of village Zikarbaria under Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj district, Nasiruddin Patwari, 34, son of Yusuf Patwari under Kachua Upazila of Chandpur district and
Chunnu Molla, 22, son of Mazam Mollah of village Bimnagar under Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district.
Talking to the journalists, Md Akhtaruzzaman, Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service and Civil Defence, said at first the remains of two bodies were found in the wreckage while the Firefighters and Army personnel removing rubbles from the collapsed Tampaco Foils factory.
“Later, the Army personnel and Fire Service and Civil Defence also recovered the remains of another body from the debris,” he said.
The fire, apparently triggered by a boiler explosion, at the packaging factory on September 10 killed at last 36 people and injured nearly 40 while the blaze collapsed parts of the four-storey building.
