Commerce Minister and Awami League Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed on Thursday claimed that nobody tarnished the reputation of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in the past.
He did the claim while addressing the council of Chhatra League, Dhaka
North at Kalabagan playground in Dhaka yesterday afternoon.
As a former president of BCL, a student wing of ruling Awami League, Tofail Ahmed, warned the activists of the BCL to remain alert against infiltration and indiscipline in the organisation.
Referring to recent BNP-Jamaat-e-Islami anti-government movement, the Minister said that the BNP Chairperson became silent after she realised that violent and subversive activities were not the ways of movement.
He called upon the Chhatra League leaders and activists to play the pivotal role in strengthening the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
AL Joint-General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanok, Fazle Noor Taposh MP, former BCL leaders Liakat Sikdar, Ishak Mia, Tasvirul Haque Anu, BCL President HM Badiuzzaman Sohag and General Secretary Siddique Nazmul Alam also spoke at the occasion.
The new committee will be formed on May 30, said BCL President HM Badiuzzaman Sohag.
