Education Minister Dipu Moni on Saturday said that religious studies would not be excluded from the new curriculum for students.
She dismissed some social media speculations about the matter saying all of those were false propaganda.
The Education Minister was talking to the media after attending a programme at the National Press Club in the capital.
“A specific group of people is spreading rumor as part of an anti-government campaign. As they find nothing else to talk about, they are now spreading propaganda about the new curriculam,” said Dipu Moni.
“We are working to expand knowledge, skills and morality through education by implementing the new curriculum. Religion, morality values are an inseparable part of it. So, religious studies will be kept uninterrupted,” Dipu Moni said.
She said also that this government has given priorities to morality as well as religious lessons through education. This will be increased in future.
The Education Minister also said that Charmonai Pir stated recently that the government would shrink the religious studies from its curriculum which is not correct.
