Quader visits cyclone "Mora" hit areas in Cox's Bazar

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday visited the cyclone “Mora” hit areas in the district and distributed relief goods among the affected people.
 “We have reached at Cox’s Bazar with relief assistant. We have stood beside affected people,” he said while distributing relief assistance to the affected people.
Quader also visited cyclone hit Samity Para and Kutubdia in the district. The AL general secretary said the people here wanted to know when BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will come to the coastal areas.
“Begum Zia did not go to haor. She didn’t say whether she will come to the cyclone hit areas or not,” he added. The minister termed the budget of 2017-18 fiscal year as farsighted and friendly to business, agriculture, poor people and development as it has been formulated aiming the Vision 2021.
“As part of long term development, common people must get benefits from the budget,” he said. The AL general secretary said Begum Khaleda Zia making comments without going through it. “I request her to go through the budget properly and then make comments. Our budget is not like that of ‘Hawa Bhaban’ budget,” he said.
The minister said this year’s budget aims at taking ahead the development activities and for the welfare of people. Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif, organizing secretary Enamul Haque Shamim, Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md Ali Hossain, Superintendent of Police Dr AKM Iqbal Hossain, Cox’s Bazar district AL President Advocate Sirajul Mostafa and General Secretary Mujibur Rahman were present on the occasion.
A 15-member team of Awami League came to the district yesterday. They in four groups visited different affected areas. A team led by AL Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak visited Kutubdia and another team led by Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman visited Chakaria-Pekua. One more team led by AL leader Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing visited Naikhanchhari of Bandarban.
