Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, said that regional cooperation in information and communication technology would lead the country forward.
He said this on Saturday while talking to Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) Paul Wilson who met him at his Hare Road residence.
The minister praised APNIC’s work in expanding the information and communication technology in the region.
“We, too, are working for a rapid expansion of digital technology in the country under the leadership of Prime minister Sheikh Hasina but at the same time we are working to protect the glass house from intruders so that women and children remain safe in it,” he said.
The minister, also the chief of the Bangladesh digital governance forum, said that the government was working on a digital security law.
An APNIC team is in city to attend the 7th conference of the Bangladesh Network Operators’ Group from November 18 to 22.
