Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two persons, including detained Regent Hospital MD Masud Parvez’s brother-in-law Giasuddin Jalali and his driver, on Thursday at a police check post in Ashulia area.
The members of the elite force recovered cash, a cheque book signed by Regent Hospital chairman and fraudster Shahed.
Rab also filed a case with Ashulia Police Station in this connection.
Ashulia Police Station SI Mohibuddin said a team of Rab-1 arrested Giasuddin and his driver from Ashulia’s Narsinghapur area and seized a private car.

Apart of Shahed’s cheque book, the law enforcers also recovered 2,120-piece yaba tablets and 10 bottles of Phensidyl from the car.
Meanwhile, Regent Group Chairman Shahed Karim was arrested by Rab from Satkhira with an illegal weapon Wednesday morning while he was trying to flee to India wearing a burqa.
He was arrested over various irregularities, fraudulence, breach of contract with the government and providing false corona test reports.
On Tuesday, the elite force arrested managing director of the Regent Hospital Masud Parvez from Gazipur district.
