Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, said that reflection of the Liberation War in films and television would help healthy development of culture.
The minister said this on Thursday while speaking as the chief guest at a function for distribution of diploma certificates of the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute (BCTI) at the National Mass Communication Institute.
The meeting was chaired by Dr Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, chief executive, BCTI.
Freedom Fighter Inu said “The liberation of the country was achieved at a huge sacrifice of millions under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and it would remain an eternal source of inspiration for the nation”.
“Remembering the martyrs and freedom fighters was part of our culture,” he said.
“It was only by upholding the spirit of the liberation war and rational thinking that the
country could uphold its secular and democratic heritage,” the minister added.
The meeting was also addressed by Senior Advisor of ATN Bangla, Nawazish Ali Khan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SA TV Syed Salauddin Zaki and television personality M Hamid.
