A referral linkage workshop held at Upzilla Family Planning Office in Narayanganj Sadar on Tuesday.
Phulki, a Non Government Organization (NGO) has organized the workshop. Prodip Kumar Roy, Upzilla family planning officer was present as Chief guest while Salma Parvin, Project Manager of Phulki presided over the workshop,
Phulki has invited the high level management staff from 5 factories, namely: Modele De Capial Industries Ltd, Gomoti Knitwear Ltd, Fariha Knit Tex Ltd, Fakir Knitwares, & Knit Concern Ltd.
Mentioning that, from year 2010 under NIRAPAD Project, Phulki, with the permission of Bangladesh Family Planning Office and Netherlands Embassy, has provided reproductive health rights awareness training in 48 factories Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur.
Meanwhile, Phulki has also established the referral linkages with the health care service centers so that the workers receive these services on 50 percent less rate. Before implementing this project, a need-based assessment was conducted which showed the result, that the workers does not access the family planning tools easily and timely.
